===Reglamento de 1843===
El 18 de abril de 1843 se publica un extenso reglamento de uniformidad que sería aprobado el 29 por el regente. Establece un uniforme común a todos los cuerpos, excepto el de húsares<ref>AGM Segovia, Sec. 2ª, Div. 16, Leg. 23.</ref>, que se disuelve ese mismo año:
* Se mantiene el casco de cuero negro, pero cambia la cola de caballo por una sobrecimera de cerda negra cortada a cepillo (de piel de oso para oficiales y batidores). Los tiradores llevan en su lugar chacó de fieltro más ancho por arriba, con galón de estambre amarillo en la parte superior, cadenilla en lugar de carrillera y llorón de cerda encarnada. Gorra de cuartel celeste.
* Todos los cuerpos visten casaca amarillaverde, pero con vueltas y vivos carmesí y botón dorado; los trompetas llevan los colores trocados, es decir, casaca encarnada con vueltas amarillas. La levita de cuartel para los oficiales es verde botella; la chaqueta de tropa es de lienzo del mismo color oscuro que el del pantalón de faena.
* El pantalón pasa a ser gris celeste con franja carmesí en la costura lateral (amarilla los trompetas). El de montar lleva cuchillos del mismo paño y sobrebota de piel de cabra. Además la tropa tiene un pantalón de lienzo blanco y otro oscuro lo más sufrido posible para usarlo en determinadas situaciones.
En 1846 se les sustituye el llorón por una pluma blanca (CG), negra (TG y MC). El abuso de este distintivo fue motivo de diversas órdenes que prohibían su uso, excepto a ministros y ex-ministros, generales, grandes de España y miembros del consejo de Estado.
En 1847 se les cambia el pantalón grana por otro azul turquí con borceguíes, debiendo usar el blanco con botas altas en los actos oficiales de palacio.
 
En 1844 el Regimiento del Rey pasa al instituto de coraceros y adopta la casaca encarnada

A los nuevos [[regimiento]]s de húsares les afectan dos reglamentos diferentes. El de 8 de marzo para el de Pavía y el de 3 de junio para el de Calatrava. Las diferencias entre ambos son las siguientes, amén de las inscripciones en los escudos y las cifras en los botones (HDP o HDC):
